12TH WORLD DOOARS FESTIVAL INAUGURATED AT ALIPURDUAR

Webdesk, TNI Alipurduar, 16^h December, 2015: The 12th World Dooars Festival has commenced. To highlight Dooars in the global tourism map, Mr. Soumitra Mohan, the SDO of the then Alipurduar Subdivision, had started this festival years ago. Meanwhile, Alipurduar has attained the status of a district from a subdivision. The extent of the festival has also expanded manifold. The festival was inaugurated by the Forest Minister, Government of West Bengal, Mr. Binoy Krishna Barman. The other dignitaries present were District Magistrate and chairman of committee Ms. R Alice Vaz, Alipurduar zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Mr. Mohan Sharma, District Superintendent of Police Mr. Abharu Rabindranath, North East Frontier Railway DRM Mr. Sanjiv Kishore, North Bengal State Transport Corporation Chairman and General Secretary of the festival committee Dr. Saurabh Chakraborty along with several senior officials of the district administration.
